2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru
RATING: (96-98) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2017 –
ESTIMATED COST: $505
The 2010 Chevalier-Montrachet is the vinous equivalent of cashmere. Impossibly elegant and refined, the Chevalier emerges from the glass with the most beautiful aromas and flavors imaginable. It is just as refined and aristocratic on the palate, where nuance, detail and crystalline purity reign supreme. This dazzling, drop-dead gorgeous wine is a pure pleasure to taste. Frankly, it is impossible to spit. Anticipated maturity: 2017+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Montrachet
RATING: (95-97) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2017 –
ESTIMATED COST: $800
All the qualities that make white Burgundy compelling are found in the 2010 Montrachet. It is a remarkable wine. Centered, precise and boasting marvelous integrity, the Montrachet conquers all of the senses with its voluptuous personality. Ample, weighty and drenched in extract, the Montrachet is wonderfully complete from the very first taste. The 2010 is a blend of the parcels in Puligny and Chassagne. The parcel from the Chassagne side had a little bit of botrytis, which gives the wine some of its exotic flavors and oily texture. This is another utterly compelling, vivid wine from proprietors Mounir Saouma and Rotem Brakim. Anticipated maturity: 2017+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Batard Montrachet
RATING: (94-96) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2016 –
ESTIMATED COST: $392
The 2010 Batard-Montrachet is all about potential. Today it is impossibly raw, powerful and inward. Despite its unbridled power and sheer energy, the Batard possesses remarkable balance and purity. I can-t wait to taste this in another few years. Today, the Batard is a bit direct and frank, with little in the way of subtlety, but plenty of potential just the same. Anticipated maturity: 2016+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Criots Batard Montrachet Grand Cru
RATING: (94-96) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
A new addition to the range, the 2010 Criots-Batard-Montrachet wafts from the glass with endless sweet, floral nuances. Somewhat of an understated and at times intellectual wine, the Criots impresses for its subtlety and pure detail. This is an airy and ethereal, minimalist Burgundy that is more about implied rather than obviously stated depth and complexity. The weightless finish seems to last forever. Anticipated maturity: 2014+.-Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Bienvenues Batard Montrachet Grand Cru
RATING: (94-96) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2016 –
ESTIMATED COST: $450
Slow out of the gates, the 2010 Bienvenue-Batard-Montrachet starts off subtly, then literally explodes on the mid-palate. Honey, almonds, tangerine and flowers are some of the many nuances that are laced throughout this utterly refined, impeccable Burgundy. The 2010 is intensely perfumed and delicate throughout. The delineated, vibrant aromas and flavors all mesh together on the huge, layered finish. Dazzling pretty much sums it up. Anticipated maturity: 2016+.- Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Corton Charlemagne
RATING: (93-95) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $170
An utterly gorgeous wine, the 2010 Corton-Charlemagne has plenty of the drive and focus typical of the appellation, but also the richness shared by the 2010 whites here. White floral notes, pears and wet stones come to life in the glass as the wine flows through to a finish marked by intense, flinty tension and pure, vibrant acidity. This is a vivid, totally living wine in the glass. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Meursault Genevrieres
RATING: (93-95) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $131
Another showstopper, the 2010 Meursault Genevrieres is uncommonly rich and voluptuous for Genevrieres. Deep, resonant layers of fruit nearly manage to bury the wine-s considerable minerality. The 2010 is a totally intense, seamless Meursault with no hard edges and exceptional balance. Today it is almost too rich, but it should be even more compelling in another few years, once some of the baby fat has begun to melt away. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Meursault Perrieres
RATING: (93-95) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $139
The 2010 Meursault Perrieres emerges from the glass with flint, crushed rocks, pears and smoke. This is pure Perrieres from its cool, inwardness all the way through to the long, crystalline finish. Everything simply comes together in the glass. The 2010 Perrieres is a wine to savor over what will hopefully be a long life. Today, it is a bit restrained. The only thing missing is time. Anticipated maturity: 2014. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Puligny Montrachet Garenne 1Er Cru
RATING: (92-94) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $145
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Garennes boasts gorgeous inner perfume in its honey, almonds, and apricot jam. This is very much an exotic, viscous wine with considerable textural richness and weight, much of which comes from the 3.5 grams of residual sugar in the wine at present. Hints of botrytis wrap around the engaging finish. It will be interesting to see where the Garennes ends up once it goes into bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Puligny Montrachet Champ Gains
RATING: (92-94) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2012 –
ESTIMATED COST: $135
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain floats on the palate with weightless elegance. White flowers, honey, apricots and mint are layered together beautifully in the glass. The Champ Gain is all about exquisite finesse and purity. It is a little more restrained than the Garennes, but equally captivating and delicious. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Chassagne Montrachet Caillerets
RATING: (92-95) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $155
The 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets is the most polished and refined of the Chassagnes. It possesses remarkable elegance, although stylistically it is like many of the other 2010s here in its textural richness and body. Sweet honeyed notes wrap around the intense, viscous finish. Here the extroverted qualities of the vintage are very nicely balanced by the wine-s underlying minerality. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Corton Blanc
RATING: (92-94) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2015 –
ESTIMATED COST: $170
The 2010 Corton Blanc boasts superb intensity, power and richness. This is a decidedly muscular, full-bodied style of Corton loaded with expressive fruit. Floral overtones add an element of lift, but this remains a rather big, at times unrestrained, wine bristling with pure raw energy. In 2010, the Corton Blanc is made from the parcels; Grandes Loliores Rognet and Vergennes. Anticipated maturity: 2015+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Meursault Poruzots 1Er Cru
RATING: (92-92) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2015 –
ESTIMATED COST: $165
I find a little more finesse in the 2010 Meursault Poruzots as it swirls around in the glass with a head spinning melange of crushed rocks, smoke, stone fruits and spices. This is a marvelously complex wine that captures the essence of the vineyard, village and vintage. The aromas and flavors built relentlessly to the textured, inviting and impeccably finish. The Poruzots is pure refinement and class. Anticipated maturity: 2015+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Chassagne Montrachet la Romanee
RATING: (92-94+) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2015 –
One of the most compelling wines in this line-up; the 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Romanee is rich, sensual and enveloping from the very first taste. Orange, vanillin, smoke and honey saturate the palate. The Romanee is a decidedly voluptuous, oily wine endowed with tons of textural depth and sheer richness. It is a great example of one of the 2010s here that is very close to a red wine in terms of its structure. A hint of botrytis adds complexity on the finish. I imagine the Romanee will need a few years to drop some of its baby fat. Fasten your seatbelts; this is a thrilling wine! Anticipated maturity: 2015+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Chassagne Montrachet la Grande Montagne 1Er Cru
RATING: (91-93) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $135
The 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Montagne is huge, rich and voluptuous. Tropical fruit, butter, spices and smoke flesh out in this large-scaled, opulent wine. Despite its considerable richness, most of the wine-s appeal is up-front, as some slightly rough edges are apparent on the finish. The Grande Montagne isn-t the last word on finesse, but the wine considerable persistence makes up for any slight shortcomings. An exotic hint of botrytis emerges on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Chassagne Montrachet les Embrazees 1Er Cru
RATING: (91-93) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $135
One of the more unusual and distinctive 2010s here, the 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Embrazees really feels like a red wine on the palate. This is a decidedly firm yet harmonious Chassagne. Stone fruit, earthiness, mint and licorice all take shape in the somewhat sturdy yet fascinating wine. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Chassagne Montrachet Grands Ruchottes
RATING: (91-93) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $155
The 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Grandes Ruchottes flows across the palate with gorgeous texture. It reveals all the richness of Chassagne with none of the heaviness. Light floral notes meld into yellow stone fruits, mint and honeysuckle all come alive in this textured, voluptuous wine. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Meursault Charmes
RATING: (91-93) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $165
The 2010 Meursault Charmes is bold, direct and voluptuous. Nectarines, honey, flowers and spices all wrap around the palate in this big generous Charmes. A vein of minerality runs through the fruit, giving the wine its sense of energy and proportion. In 2010, the Charmes is especially rich, layered and unctuous. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Pernand Vergelesses Blanc Sous Fretille
RATING: (91-93) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2012 –
ESTIMATED COST: $100
In the 2010 Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Fretille readers will find a wine that pushes the boundaries of what is possible within the appellation. Layers of juicy stone fruits jump from the glass in this radiant, sumptuous white. Hints of spice, minerals and smoke add considerable tension and nuance on the intense finish. This is another totally beautiful and intriguing wine from Lucien Le Moine. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Puligny Montrachet les Folatieres
RATING: (91-93) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2014 –
ESTIMATED COST: $170
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Folatieresis the most tense and inward of the Puligny premiers crus today. It boasts a serious core of underlying minerality, bright fruit and tremendous length. At this same time it is a bit raw. If the typical Folatieresfinesse emerges, the wine may merit a higher score in the future. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine Nuits St Georges les Terres Blanches
RATING: (90-92) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2013 –
The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Terres Blanches is gorgeous. Veins of clean, underlying minerality form the backbone in the energetic and wonderfully vibrant white. Pears, anise, crushed rocks and a subtle undertone of earthiness are all layered into the vivid finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013+. – Antonio Galloni

2010 Maison Lucien le Moine St Aubin les Murgers des Dents de Chien
RATING: (90-92) points
VARIETY: Chardonnay
DRINK: 2012 –
ESTIMATED COST: $100
The 2010 St. Aubin Les Murgers des Dents de Chien (from tank) is a wine of notable contrasts. It is at once cool and inward, yet explosive at the same time. Nectarine, sweet flowers, spices and mint wrap around the juicy, extroverted finish. This is a hugely promising wine, and a great start to the tasting. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. – Antonio Galloni
